SITUMBRA LLC is focused on cutting edge research and development and is forming its business around manufacturing a high performance window facade system.

Buildings are large consumers of energy, using 48% of all our energy needs and windows typically account for about 30% of overall building heating and cooling loads.

SITUMBRA provides a new cost effective window technology that passively modulates solar transmission into a building, which is more energy efficient than conventional window installations. SITUMBRA integrates technologies in partnership with unique material and lamination manufacturers into configurations that combine bio-composite and recyclable polymer materials, making this a very durable and sustainable building product. Ongoing research and development continues to improve the product's performance characteristics.

SITUMBRA is designed to allow for high solar heat transmission during the winter, yet blocking out the sun in summer. Thermal testing as well as simulation analysis demonstrated 25% increase in energy efficiency over a conventional double glazed low e coated window wall.
